When To Replace Rechargeable Headset Batteries

August 23, 2021 ·

Today’s rechargeable headset batteries are designed for long life and reliable performance. But these vital drive-thru parts can only handle so many recharges before they wear out. How do you know when to replace them with new ones?

A common sign is frequent audio static and/or “cut-outs,” – the sound suddenly stops when taking an order. When this happens, replace the headset batteries with new or fully charged ones. If the problem goes away, recharge the first set of batteries and put them back in the headset. If they continue to have cut-out problems, they should be replaced.

Pay attention to the charging cycle. Most fully charged headset batteries will last 10 to 12 hours – enough for a full shift. If you need to change batteries every few hours, it’s time to replace them with new ones. Also, check the expiration date, which is usually printed on the side of the batteries. If your batteries have gone beyond the date, replace them with new ones.
