The Importance of Headset Maintenance

June 22, 2020 ·

Experienced drive-thru operators know that a little bit of maintenance goes a long way toward keeping your drive-thru parts and equipment in good working order. This is especially important for headsets, which are susceptible to moisture and rough treatment. No matter what type of headsets you use, the following will help keep your headsets working as they should.

Clean your headsets daily. Use a damp cloth to wipe away any dirt or grease from the exterior. A mild soap applied to the cloth is safe to use, but never use spray cleaners on a headset. Clean between the buttons and crevices using a soft brush with small bristles.

Avoid getting liquid on the headset. Liquid that gets into the headset or beltpac can cause serious electrical damage. If this occurs, turn off the power, remove the battery, and let the headset dry out before using it again.

Store headsets properly. Always store headsets in a cool, dry place when not in use. Exposure to unwanted moisture is the bane of headsets.

Even with proper maintenance, drive-thru parts will need repair or replacement from time to time. At CE, our highly-skilled factory-trained technicians can fix all makes and models of headsets. (We offer same-day service on most repairs!)

We also stock and sell new and refurbished headsets from HME, Panasonic and 3M. Whether you need fast, professional repairs or new equipment, call CE at 877-731-0334. We’ve got you covered!
