Don’t Let Ambient Noise Get in the Way of Good Service

February 22, 2016 ·

Are your drive-thru crewmembers complaining about unwanted background noise in their headsets when taking customer orders? If so, it may be slowing down service times and reducing order accuracy. Most of today’s leading drive-thru headset systems include sophisticated noise cancellation technology. But if those pesky background noises are making orders hard to hear, it may be time to clean or even repair your equipment.

In general, there are three types of unwanted noises in a drive-thru:

  1.  Internal. These noises are caused by kitchen equipment or employees doing their jobs.
  2. External. Cars in the lane and surrounding traffic can also contribute to background “ear pollution.”
  3. Ambient system noise. Wireless communication systems often make their own humming or buzzing noises that can distract crewmembers.

If any or all of these is making it hard for crewmembers to hear customer orders, give us a call at 877-731-0334 and describe the problem. We’ll help you determine whether the problem is with the headset or if there might be some other cause. And if you do need repairs or replacements, we’ll get them to you in a jiffy!
