Three Tips for Reducing Drive-Thru Parts Repairs

October 8, 2018 ·

It’s a fact of life for drive-thru operators that sooner or later your headsets – one of the most important of all drive-thru parts – will need maintenance or repairs.  You can reduce the frequency and cost of those repairs by practicing the following on a regular basis:

  1. Train crewmembers to watch for small cracks that can allow liquids to seep inside the headset and damage the electronics. Sending the headset into CE right away can prevent minor repairs from become major ones.
  2. Clean your headsets on a regular basis, using a soft-bristle toothbrush to clear away debris from area around buttons. Use a mild cleaner for the rest of the headset.
  3. Remind employees not to bend, twist or stretch the headset to get a more comfortable fit, as this can cause them to become permanently out of shape.

Also, worn out ear foam pads won’t damage the headset, but they can make it uncomfortable for crewmembers to wear while also interfering with sound clarity. When it’s time to replace these small but important drive-thru parts, CE Repairs can provide you with quality replacement earpads for HME, Panasonic and 3M headsets.
