Taking Care of A Vital Drive-Thru Part: Your Headset Batteries

March 18, 2019 ·

It’s amazing how the smallest drive-thru parts can make such a big difference. For example, your headset batteries. If they lose their charge in the middle of a busy daypart, it can disrupt your entire process, especially if you don’t have backups immediately available.

To keep your batteries working better and longer before they need replacement:

  • Don’t overcharge. Overcharging batteries can cause them to wear out sooner. Wait until your batteries have almost lost their power before recharging them.
  • Keep them clean at all times.  On a regular basis, use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the contacts on the battery, headset and belt-pac. Don’t forget to clean your battery charger as well.
  • Replace when necessary. If you get frequent static on your headsets, or the battery charge fades faster than it should, it’s time for new batteries. Replacement is also in order when the code on the back of the battery exceeds 18 to 24 months.

CE stocks batteries and battery systems for all major headset brands, so we’ll have them on hand when you need them. We also offer a money-saving buy three, get one free special when you buy CE brand batteries for any HME, Panasonic, or 3M system.
