Keep Those Headset Batteries Clean!

May 11, 2020 ·

Every drive-thru operator knows the importance of keeping their headsets clean. Dirt and grime can build up quickly in the busy drive-thru environment, and it only takes a little to cause static or unwanted repairs.

When cleaning headsets, one drive-thru part often gets overlooked: the battery. Yet, regular cleaning and maintenance can keep the headset performing as it should and extend the life of your batteries. Here’s how:

·       Clean your batteries often. Unplug the charger, and use a cotton swab moistened with alcohol to gently clean all battery contacts.

·       Keep headsets away from water. Moisture can damage the headset and the battery. Wearing the battery device behind the hip will help minimize exposure to water and other sources of moisture. Always store headsets in a cool, dry place when not in use.

·       Don’t overcharge batteries. Recharge them only when they are low on power. Turn off the power on the communication pack before storing it. Leaving it on will drain the batteries.

Batteries can’t be repaired, but CE offers a “buy three get one free” offer to help reduce the cost of replacing these important drive-thru parts. Read the details here.
